On behalf of the IEEE Communications Society and members of the organizing committee, I take great pleasure in welcoming you to the 2007 International Workshop on High Performance Switching and Routing (HPSR, 2007). In all, 55 papers are to be presented in the conference.
New York City, lovingly called The Big Apple, occupies the southern part of New York State. With its vast resources and skilled manpower, it is deemed as the global financial center. It is also the birthplace of many cultural movements including hip hop music. The city of New York houses architecture ranging from medieval structures like the gothic Woolworth Building to modern day sky scrapers like, The Empire State Building. It is also one of the fashion capitals of the world. It is made up of five boroughs; Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island.
Polytechnic University is the second oldest technological university in the United States. By providing knowledge and guidance from the esteemed staff, the university has set the right platform for bringing about technological revolution in New York and United States. It is located in the borough of Brooklyn, which is known for its cultural diversity, an independent art scene, distinct neighborhoods, and a unique architectural heritage.
I take this opportunity to thank all members of the organizing committee for their unrelenting support and valuable inputs for making this conference a success. I would also like to express my gratitude to our main sponsors- CATT (Center for Advanced Technology in Telecommunications). Lastly, I would like to thank you all for coming here and for supporting the event.
Sincerely,
H. Jonathan Chao
