Introduction to the study of power system dynamics. Load-flow. Mathematical modeling of synchronous machines, exciters, prime movers, power plants, transmission lines, transformers, loads and stabilizers. Transient stability, small-signal stability, voltage stability, mid- and long-term stability, subsynchronous resonance.

Transients in simple circuits. Introduction to transient simulation using the EMTP. Analysis of lumped-circuits. Normal and abnormal transients in power equipment and systems. Short-circuit fault analysis. Transient recovery voltage in single and three-phase circuits. Analysis of traveling waves on transmission lines, windings and integrated systems.
