Ray Martino, Vice President of Technical Strategy, joined Symbol in 1987 as part of the founding team who established Symbol’s wireless network business in San Jose, California. Ray has held ever-increasing roles at Symbol most recently as General Manger of Symbol’s Wireless Infrastructure Division.
Ray played a key role in engineering many disruptive innovations including the first in the world, Wireless LAN Switch, first VoIP over WLAN phone, first 802.11 WLAN products and first in the world handheld computer with WLAN.
Ray now leads Symbol’s technical strategy guiding Symbol’s innovation and development to create the next first in the world products for Enterprise Mobility. Ray also engages with Symbol’s customers shaping and applying new technology to meet customer needs.
Ray is a founder of Hands of Hope Africa a charitable organization helping children orphaned by AIDs in Africa and founder of the Luke 12:15 Foundation.
Prior to joining Symbol, Mr. Martino was a Design Engineer with Intel Corporation.
Mr. Martino earned his MSEE from University of California Davis and BSEE from Drexel University.
